The candle is strong ...

It appears that the candle is of much concern to the Malaysian Police Force ... as there is a possibility that irresponsible use of it while walking harmoniously in a group could lead to massive fires and burning structures within the KL city center.

This must be the reason why 16 people including former ISA detainee P. Uthaya Kumar and his wife, and S. Jeyathas from Police Watch Malaysia, have been arrested for holding a candlelight vigil at Dataran Merdeka on the ‘’cow’s head protest’’ controversy, Saturday. Catch the video from Star Online here.

However, a group shouting profanities and insulting religion (Hinduism and Buddhism) by bringing along a cow's head are allowed to escape without any punishment. they are some similarities between the two groups ... They are Malaysians - They are reps of political parties They marched - They were captured on camera - and yet, one group gets arrested and the other ... get's fuck all!!

We wonder who the police are working for!!

If there were Pakatan Rakyat reps involved - arrest them!
If there were BN reps involved - arrest them.
If they were residents participating in an illegal demonstration - arrest them!

Dear Mr.Police Chief ... for God's sake, do fucking something! You have shown us your true spine (oxymoron here I think, as you have none!).

This is a sad day in Malaysia when the Police and the powers that be (the Ministers, Royalty, etc.) simply turn a blind eye.

BTW, are the people really beginning to question the Pakatan ruling party ... I am not too sure! PKZ, Khir Toyo, Zakaria ... they are there to remind us what used to be!!!

Who's the cow now?

From the Malaysian Insider online ...

PUTRAJAYA, Sept 2 – The Home Minister today defended and justified last Friday's cow-head demonstration after meeting with Malay-Muslim representatives of Shah Alam's Section 23 at his office here today. Get the full story here.

You are the Home Minster of the country - a man to ensure stability within the nation. A man that has to weed out undesirable elements and ensure the safety of the nation. What the fuck are you trying to do?

Meanwhile, from the Malaysian Insider again ...
Selangor Pakatan Rakyat leader Xavier Jayakumar demanded Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein to be sacked or step down from the Cabinet after the home minister appeared to favour those linked to last week’s cow-head protest. Here's the full story.

In the article, Jayakumar says that Hishammuddin had in the past “waved his keris inciting bloodshed, supported the arrest of lawyers who went to defend those detained by the police, arrested 580 people (this is a record) for standing up for their rights to protest against the ISA and now defends a group who is prepared to bring about racial unrest and bloodshed”.

I find the whole issue appalling ... with the police not taking immediate action, the AG taking his time and then there is the possibility that this may not be a Seditious Act.

WTF is wrong with you guys? Do you really want to see the demise of the party and the re-election of the Opposition during the next General Elections?

One thing is for certain ... you are moving in the right direction.
Bon Voyage :)

Layar Buruk ... :)

The BN election machinery has sprung a leak - with the acknowledgment by the Malaysian Bar Council that candidate for the Permatang Pauh by-election - Rohaizat Othman - had been struck off the Roll of Advocates and Solicitors after he was found guilty of misconduct.

Get the full story here.

OUCH!!!!!

A front page story of 2 tales

It is rather ironic that the newspapers carried two stories that ran totally opposite to each other recently ... in a rather twisted manner. It was either a lameness or an inside joke amongst the editors of the local newspapers.

Our local dailies carried as headlines the demonstrations by the anti-ISA and (not-to-be-seen) pro-ISA groups. The dailies reported (based on comments from various politically motivated sources) on the anti-ISA marchers for stirring trouble (as well as including women, mothers and children in their march) to get their voices heard.

The ironic part was that the same dailies also carried stories on the departed Cory Aquino - a woman who was hailed as championing the rights of the people with "Street Rallies". A women so defined in history that she will always be remembered worldwide for her sadness (assassination of hubby) and the anger of the Filipino that drove towards the over-throwing of the dictatorial government-ship of Marcos. They did this through a series of "people power street demonstrations" ... to get their message across!!

It was something the world remembered!! What will our beloved rulers leave behind? What will their legacy be? I believe their parting gift to the public would be : "I never allowed / believed in people power ... after all, the Rakyat listens to what we tell them and they enjoy the things we give them!" Ha!Ha!Ha!

Suppression of speech? Oppression for the right to information (you must agree that our Internet connection sucks and access to selected sites ... well, you know where I'm coming from!!)

You decide ... should I just refrain from expressing my thoughts, my feelings - or should I stand up for my rights! (Hmmmm ... then againg, do I actually have any?)

Have a read of this ... it's very interesting :)

Why do Malaysians march?

By: Yeo Yang Poh (Sun, 02 Aug 2009)

On the move ... a section of anti-ISA protesters near the National Mosque in Kuala Lumpur on Saturday.

WHY march, when the government has said that it will review the Internal Security Act? Why march, when there are other very cosy ways of giving your views and feedback?

One would understand if these were questions posed by nine-year-olds. But they are not. They are questions posed by the prime minister of this nation we call our home. Answer we must. So, why?

Because thousands who died while in detention cannot march or speak any more. That is why others have to do it for them.

Because persons in the corridors of power, persons who have amassed tremendous wealth and live in mansions, and persons who are in the position to right wrongs but won’t, continue to rule our nation with suffocating might. And they certainly would not march. They would prevent others from marching.

Because the have-nots, the sidelined, the oppressed, the discriminated and the persecuted have no effective line to the powerful.

Because the nice ways have been tried ad nauseam for decades, but have fallen on deaf ears.

Because none of the major recommendations of Suhakam (including on peaceful assembly), or of the commissions of inquiry, has been implemented. Because the proposed Independent Police Complaints and Misconduct Commission (IPCMC) is not in sight, while corruption and insecurity live in every neighbourhood; and (despite reasoned views expressed ever so nicely in opposition) Rela (people’s volunteer corps) is being brought in to make matters even worse.

The proponents in “Su Qiu” (remember them?) were not marchers. In fact it is hard to find nicer ways than “su qiu”, because the term means “present and request” or “inform and request”. In terms of putting forward a view or a request, it is the height of politeness. Yet they were labelled “extremists” – they who did not march.

And now you ask, why march?

Because you gave non-marchers a false name! You called them the “silent majority”, who by virtue of their silence (so you proudly argued with twisted logic) were supporters of government policies since they were not vocal in raising objections. You claimed to be protecting the interest of the “silent majority”. Now some of them do not want to be silent anymore, and you are asking why?

Yes, because double standards and hypocrisy cannot be covered up or explained away forever; and incompetence cannot be indefinitely propped up by depleting resources.

Because cronyism can only take care of a few people, and the rest will eventually wake up to realise the repeated lies that things were done in certain ways purportedly “for their benefit”.

Because the race card, cleverly played for such a long time, is beginning to be seen for what it really is – a despicable tool to divide the rakyat for easier political manipulation.

Because it does not take much to figure out that there is no good reason why Malaysia, a country with abundant human resources and rich natural resources, does not have a standard of living many times higher than that of Singapore, an island state with no natural resources and that has to import human resources from Malaysia and elsewhere.

Because, in general, countries that do not persecute marchers are prosperous or are improving from their previous state of affairs, and those that do are declining.

Because Gandhi marched, Mandela marched, Martin Luther King marched, and Tunku Abdul Rahman marched.

Because more and more people realise that peaceful assemblies are no threat at all to the security of the nation, although they are a threat to the security of tenure of the ruling elite.

Because politicians do not mean it when they say with a straight face or a smile that they are the servants and that the people are the masters. No servant would treat his master with tear gas, batons and handcuffs.

Because if the marchers in history had been stopped in their tracks, places like India, Malaysia and many others would still be colonies today, apartheid would still be thriving in South Africa, Nelson Mandela would still be scribbling on the walls of Cell 5, and Obama would probably be a slave somewhere in Mississippi plotting to make his next midnight dash for the river.

And because liberty, freedom and dignity are not free vouchers posted out to each household.

They do not come to those who just sit and wait. They have to be fought for, and gained.

And if you still want to ask: why march; I can go on and on until the last tree is felled. But I shall
obviously not.

I will end with the following lines from one of the songs sung in the 1960s by civil rights marchers in the US, without whom Obama would not be able to even sit with the whites in a bus, let alone reside in the White House:

“It isn’t nice to block the doorway
It isn’t nice to go to jail
There are nicer ways to do it
But the nice ways have all failed
It isn’t nice; it isn’t nice
You’ve told us once, you’ve told us twice
But if that’s freedom’s price
We don’t mind ...”

And by the way, I am incensed about this:

Goodbye ... MJ & FF

2 in a day ... tragic and sad. Iconic figures who have somehow had an impact in my life.
One as a music icon that has managed to make a breakthrough with all races within the nation (and the world!). Every Malaysian knows MJ and at least 1 of his songs ... and today it is the talk of the town. Everyone from your taxi driver, school kid, auntie and uncle is talking about it and probably reliving one of his songs that they remember.

He manages to unite people with his music - DAMN! If only we had a politician like that ... someone that unites everyone!

His songs have given us many, many memories - Beat it, Billie Jean, Ben, Bad, Blame it on the Boogie, Black or White ... interesting, they all begin with B.

The other death is someone that had a tremendous impact on a young, adolescent and horny kid as he was growing up. The long wavy mane of "Jill Munroe" complementing that gorgeous figure and ever so-lovely smile was enough to make that young kid wanna ...

Guys ... R.I.P. You have given many people many good memories. Thank you :)

Getting hot under the ....

The story from the Star online is truly a piece of either "great or accidental journalism". Getting hot under the ... (for being in solitude in the hotel) and throwing a tantrum about wanting to return home is sooooo funny!!!

To think that this is the PM wife's - the First Lady of Malaysia - throwing a fit while her hubby (our PM) goes to constant meetings with China officials to hopefully, "resurrect the economy of our nation".

I wonder what happens if one gets really hot to the extent of exploding ... beep!beep!boom!

Datuk Seri Dr Mohd Khir Toyo ... You just gotta love this guy!!!

I enclosed an excerpt from the Star (online) regarding the suspension of former Selangor mentri besar Datuk Seri Dr Mohd Khir Toyo from the state assembly without privileges ...

The four were also found guilty of attacking the Selcat in the media.

“The Selangor state government professes to champion freedom of expression but yet stifles dissent. The four assemblymen had merely said that the Selcat inquiry should have been held behind closed doors,” Dr Mohd Khir said.

He said stifling criticism was akin to killing democracy in the state.

“By suspending the four and depriving them of their freedom of expression, the Selangor government has proven itself to be worse than the Internal Security Act,” he claimed.

This., ladies and gentlemen, has certainly got to be one of the the most shocking, mind-boggling and utterly idiotic responses from the state's former MB. Mind you, this is just my opinion!

Meanwhile the online site also revealed this story ... An MP and an assemblyman were among 11 people arrested following a candlelight vigil here calling for the dissolution of the Perak state assembly.

So it is safe to say that being part of a candle-light vigil to champion democracy" is against the law, but going on state funded family trips overseas and building mansions (castles) with public funds does not deserve any police investigation or imprisonment.

Mana boleh tuan ... !!!

If this were in America ... Jay Leno's monologue would last an entire 60-minutes and there would be no need for guests to be part of the show. It would be that funny!!

1-Malaysia ... tak ada leh!

The 1 Malaysia policy as advocated by the Prime Minister is to ensure that every Malaysian has equal rights - to be treated fairly in all aspects.

This policy has just gone out the window with the Perak MB situation and the Malaysian judiciary.
Zam wants a "stay of execution" and he gets it within a few hours ... Niz wants "a stay of the stay" and he might get it ... only after waiting a few DAYS!

And this is a situation of 2 people from the same race ... macam mana lah 1-Malaysia.

Wednesday 13 May 2009

Oooops!! Tersilap lah :)

How silly was I to actually think that it was momentarily over and the people would actually have a final say in who should govern the state!

It is definitely going to be more difficult for the "Opposition " (i.e. PR) now ... they are after all, going up against a man who identifies with the trials and tribulations of Nelson Mandela, Mahatma Gandhi and Martin Luther King.

Image campaigning against a trio like this ... all rolled into one. Kalah-lah Nizar :)

BTW ... pick the clown of the Silver State - guaranteed to entertain for a lifetime if he finally gets to hold down MB post for Perak.

Monday 11 May 2009

Nizar - Silver State MB

It's all over the websites ... the Malaysian High Court has ruled that Datuk Nizar Jamaluddin isthe legitimate Menteri Besar of Perak.

Now what for the people of the Silver State? More dragging of people out of the House (chaotic but absolutely hilarious scenes), dissolution of government and off to the polls, or JV with BN?

It is now that the rest of the country sits back and enjoys the fireworks!

The day the music died

It is a sad day in the history of Malaysian politics - a day when a state is divided and a day when men behave like children. The parents of these children should bear the responsibility for their up-bringing ... they should be charged in court for delivering into this world ill-mannered and disruptive human beings. Let us all lodge police reports ... after all, this appears to be a trend today.

It is because of the many, many "anal" reports that the police force is hard-pressed to fight crime on the streets (i.e. Mat Rempits, snatch thefts, drugs, illegal immigrants, break-ins, corruption, etc.). The police are too busy looking into these reports, and it is the amount of paper work that's keeping them at the desks and not on the street where they should be!!

Anyways ..... the proceedings at Perak State Assembly has left a bitter taste in one's mouth - when power-crazed men and women who are leaders of a state (and possibly future leaders of the nation) act out a drama of "Mine ... Not Yours!" (or the local version of "Gua punya ... bukan Lu Punya").

There are so many things wrong ... you cannot wear black, you cannot be opinionated, you cannot cross "this" line, YOU cannot come here - and doing any of these "tidak bolehs" will lead to one destination ... the cool rooms of a cell.

In the current economic downturn, ideas must be generated to assist the public from up-coming hardships. The decision makers of Perak State should sincerely get their act together and figure out what the people want ... don't always assume you know what they want.

The people spoke and you ignored their freedom to speak - to choose - to determine what they want. You ripped it right out ... albeit with some help to a few turncoats! Well, there is only one way for you to find out ... and that is through a survey - one that is called "Election".

In the land of BOLEH, it is a crying shame that there are banyak "TAK BOLEHs".

It is truly a day when the music has stopped playing for the Malaysian public - a day when democracy has been thrown out the windows and into those large desolate pools of water that now litter this once-rich mining town of the country.

The tin has gone and so has the music.

Piracy crackdown ... Ha! Ha!

Here's an extract from The Malaysian bar's website ... If you think it is harmless to keep a few copies of pirated discs at home, be warned. The police can knock on you door anytime, China Press reported today. Penang police chief Deputy Comm Datuk Wira Ayub Yaakob told the daily police are discussing with copyrights holders and relevant units on steps to be taken to crack down on music and film piracy. He said police can launch a crackdown anytime. Ayub said police have been carrying out raids on sellers of pirated discs but are unable to stem out the scourge.

I saw this story in the newspapers and I nearly fell off my chair, spat my drink out and ... well, you get the drift. You see, with this new action taken by the police, my 8-year son will have to be sent to jail.

That's not all ... but all the shops, malls, hawker stalls, music clubs, offices, pasar malams, etc will have to be closed - for I am absolutely certain that there will be at least 1 (one) pirated disc on their premises.

Our dear Penang Police Chief has shown his total incompetence in attending to a situation - does this mean that he will soon be raiding houses to check on pirated apparel, shoes, watches, etc.

After all, he did say that the police were carrying out raids on sellers of pirated discs but are unable to stem out the scourge.

Have they gone about addressing the issue of other pirated things? Why just pirated discs?

This is the nincompoop that has risen to the status of Penang Police Chief and has a Datukship accorded to him to, most likely, showcase an appreciation towards his contributions to society in crime prevention.

Dear sir, with people like you, criminals will continue to thrive in this nation of "becoming not so plenty. All I can say is focus and look at the big picture - don't just use a band aid solution to appear as if you are doing something to help the public. Please give the average Malaysian more credit than that!

In fact, there is a remote possibility that soon, our beloved nation will see a population that will be walking naked - after all, that shirt, watch, jeans, sneakers and possibly, that beer you're holding are probably not original.

Mr. Policeman sir ... please remember that you might also need to take away the computers - as they have the potential to download pirated material off the Internet.

Psst! Wanna buy a watch?

She steals ... he steals?

She has stolen RM220 from a man - claiming as a single mother, she was at her wits end to feed her 3 school going children. This was reported in The Star online today.

Meanwhile, he (and his entourage of wife, children and maid) are alleged to have made "technical visits" to Disneyland Paris and Disneyland Florida. He is alleged to have spent approximately RM1.7 million on those visits - and he says it was done 'by the book'. Interestingly, he did not meet any Disney officials and there was no "report" on the visit.

He did this using the people's money - and if the MACC decide to investigate (this is a line every Malaysian comedian should have in their repertoire - it will surely crack up the audience!) - and wouldn't this be tantamount to stealing.

If a person gets jailed 4 years for stealing RM220 (i.e. RM55 per year) - then RM 1.7 million works out to approximately 30,909 years. The ruling coalition uses the scales as a "check and balance" on how to rule the nation ... guess its slightly tipped to favour certain people (read Saya kenal ...)

We "live" the dream ... that one day, we as One Malaysia, will be able to do this together and show our children the road to success is indeed in Malaysia - The land where "Apa pun Boleh!"

Friday 10 April 2009

Saya kenal ...

In Malaysia, the land where anything and everything is possible - there's a local adage that's very well understood by almost all Malaysians. It is our nation's motto - our doctrine .

It starts from day one ... at the hospital that you're delivered - to getting a place in school - to getting a job - getting awarded the contracts ...

The 6 degree of separation (on being able to link up with someone related) is definitely in evidence in this country. There is always "someone you know who can tolong you" ... whether that contact is from your father, uncle, auntie - there is someone who knows someone.

Remember this line well ... it could be your route to success. "It's not what you know, it's who you know".

We welcome the new Malaysian cabinet and hope that their KPI will be monitored - and reported accordingly to the public. After all, you are the CEO of the country ... in a manner of speaking! You decide who makes it - and who doesn't!

Well, sort of :)

Thursday 26 February 2009

He speaks with a forked tongue!!

Very young in life we learn that good things are never free - there is always a price to pay for it. We too have learned this through the years with the BN Government ... he that gives with one hands and snatches the goodness away with the other.

Lies! Nothing but lies from our "well-loved and highly charitable"politicians. What am I getting at ?

Well, many Malaysians would have read with joy the news on the scrapping of toll payments at 2 toll plazas on the NPE. The Salak Jaya toll (south-bound) was abolished on Tuesday (24/2) while the toll at PJS2 (Kuala Lumpur-bound) of the New Pantai Expressway was abolished on Feb 13.

Could it be true that the ruling national Government was doing something for the public during these tough economic times? Was there a remote possibility that they understood and were aware of the peoples sentiment towards them - that as a badly defeated ruling Government party, they could get back on the good side of the Malaysian public through various "good deeds" (ala "abolishing tolls"). We can only pray!

Well, the truth is that bubble has burst almost as fast as it was blown. This is an extract from the Star Online, dated Thursday February 26, 2009.

The toll rates for five highways will be increased from March 1, Works Minister Datuk Mohamad Zin Mohamed announced on Thursday. Read full story here.

I was absolutely speechless when I read this report. How could they? What right did they have to further burden the Malaysian public? Do you honestly believe that these highway concessionaires would be suffering without the increase?

There used to be a song titled "Ayo yoSamy" (click here to enjoy the song). Ironically, we have managed to rid one but not the other ... he has left us an indelible mark on Malaysian roads for ages to come.

When the Government raised the petrol prices due to the spike in worldwide oil prices, Malaysians were burdened with an increase in the cost of daily necessities - and when the fuel prices were reduced, the cost of our daily needs remained high. No action was taken against operators who increased prices and did not lower it when lower costs of fuel came into play.

We are today paying the price for the Government's folly - a Government we elected - and a Government that is becoming increasingly unpopular. The Pakatan Rakyat coalition should be rubbing their hands in glee - victory appears to be served up in a silver/gold salver.

Now, the the PR mantra should be ... Keep it simple!! Let's not do anything foolish - the Governance of Malaysia is being handed to us on a platter. Let's not screw up!!

You da man! Daulat Tuanku!

Brilliant. Accurate. Smart. Exact. Responsible.
These are just some of the acknowledgments and superlatives that the Sultan of Selangor deserves for his "advice" in the Eli Wong saga. He said all the right things and expressed it in all the right words - to effectively say that "my advice is for you to decide".

Please do not see this as a case of passing the buck - it is in fact, very sound, precise and excellent advice.

I was born in Ipoh, Perak and have been residing in Selangor for almost 20 years. The decision by the monarchy in the state I call home today makes me tremendously proud and happy to be a part of a state that will continue to thrive and develop under the right stewardship. This is how respect is earned and "the wisdom of the monarchy" appreciated.

Below is the statement from HRH the Sultan of Selangor (with thanks to BERNAMA).

KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 25 (Bernama) -- Following is the full statement by the Sultan of Selangor, Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah, over the controversy involving Bukit Lanjan state assemblyman Elizabeth Wong, issued by his private secretary, Datuk Mohamad Munir Bani.

I am pleased to inform that Yang Amat Berhormat Tan Sri Dato' Abdul Khalid Bin Ibrahim, the Dato' Menteri Besar Selangor has sought an audience with His Royal Highness, The Sultan of Selangor, on Wednesday, 25th February 2009 and duly informed His Royal Highness on the political development and the issue which involved Yang Berhormat Elizabeth Wong Keat Ping, the Selangor State Assemblyman for Bukit Lanjan who is also the State Selangor Exco Member.

His Royal Highness, The Sultan of Selangor, has commanded me to inform that His Royal Highness could not offer any guidance or advice to the Yang Berhormat Dato' Menteri Besar of Selangor in the matter related to the issue of Yang Berhormat Elizabeth Wong Keat Ping as it was still under police investigation and it involved her political position. It is His Royal Highness' stance as the Sultan of Selangor to be above politics.

His Royal Highness believes that whatever decision that is going to be made by the Yang Amat Berhormat Dato' Menteri Besar of Selangor will made with accurateness, fair and with wisdom by taking into consideration the interest of the Rakyat in particular and the State of Selangor generally. His Royal Highness is upset and worried as of late the intrusion of someone's privacy and private rights was being used to destroy one's dignity and reputation. It is a sad thing as one's life and private rights were being made public and subject to public scrutiny by publicising in the mass media.

To Yang Berhormat Elizabeth Wong, His Royal Highness felt sad and sympathised with her as to the unfortunate event she had suffered and hoped that Yang Berhormat Elizabeth Wong will remain calm and be patient in continuing with her life henceforth.

Dato' Haji Mohamad Munir bin Bani

Dato' Lela Bakti Private Secretary to His Royal Highness

Real People ... Real Lives

Much has been written and said about Elizabeth Wong, the outspoken Bukit Lanjan assemblyman over nude pictures of her that have been circulating via MMS. I have not seen the pictures - but from all accounts, it appears that she did not pose for it. Moreover, in today's world of modern technology, nothing (especially the body) is scared anymore.

Just ask Chua Soi Lek ... it was adultery and is there a sense of wrong there? In a land where morality rules, I guess he had no option but to do the right thing and resign. (Although, I did not take too kindly his comments and rationalization of his adulterous affair).

There's also the phrase ... there's no smoke without a fire! And there have been many instances of our truly exalted leaders being mentioned 'in the same breath' of various immoral activities (that includes corruption). Did they resign? Hmmm ....

Today, a gay woman (lesbian) has been named as the Prime Minister of Iceland, and we all vividly remember Bill Clinton (ex-President USA) getting caught with his pants down. This is reality ... and it is here to stay in Malaysia, and let us not be a 'katak di bawah tempurung'.

We must realise that pornography is at the click of a button on the Internet and accessible to just about anyone at any age. So parents, do remember to install Anti-Porn for your kids - although they will certainly find out about the birds and the bees (very graphically) in school. I know I did!

Everyone is entitled to their privacy and the shameless person that has circulated Elizabeth Wong's photographs should be 'half buried in sand in the hot blazing sun, with honey poured over and a million fire ants released in the vicinity (some bees might also want to be included in the fun)'.

I have no affiliations towards Elizabeth Wong, except that I believe she is a "real person experiencing life in the real world" ... having a boyfriend, having sex, trusting someone and getting betrayed. That appears to be a normal situation that most people would have lived through ... albeit without the pictures! (although we have heard of many similar horror stories).

Elizabeth's reputation has been tarnished but for the rest of the country ... this is all about reality, her personal life ... so, deal with it and get on with your daily lives. The press and the police (authorities) should also play their role in identifying the perpetrator/distributor of the pictures and not pursue the politician. We can only hope and pray this will be the path taken ...

She should not resign ... although she probably will (have too). C'est la vie :)

Tilam! Tilam! Beli baru tukar lama!

Tour de Langkawi ... Brainless twits!

I am a huge sports fan and enjoy watching a variety of sports as entertainment. Heck, I have even played the occasional game or two (with some distinction).

Today, in what is predicted to be an economic slowdown (recession), the organisers of the Tour de Langkawi have shone through like a shining beacon ... thinking with their heads in their arses.

They have decided to close a few roads in KL from Friday to Sunday to facilitate the event. I have nothing against this ... but why do it during peak hours of a working day when the Malaysian public needs to get to work (and school) and eke out a living. In the day when every Ringgit and sen counts, you make us late for work, make us burn unnecessary fuel sitting idly in our car and pollute the environment through the emission of exhaust fumes.

Why haven't the organisers learnt after all these years? Why does the government allow this to happen? People need to work - earn a living - feed their children ... and yet, you show no consideration in planning for better execution of the event. Instead, you with the out-riders to move you smoothly along towards your destination have not a care in the world ... just remember, March 8 2008.

Please use that grey matter that you were blessed with to better use. After all, it is the Malaysian public that allows you the luxury to use it ... it could be made redundant.

The "Niu" Silver State.

The Year of the Ox has certainly brought some changes to the political climate in the Silver State of Malaysia. The once prosperous tin-mining state is now devoid of leadership - as the recently elected state government comes to terms with defections of their "friends, pals, comrades, kaki" to the opposition camp.

Step back a sec and consider this ... What do you do when you elect a representative? Do you vote for the party ... the candidate ... his principles ... what?

DSAI and the loosely assembled PKR promoted the "jumping the band-wagon scenario", and it has now bitten them big in the posterior.

On a separate note, I've been waiting patiently during CNY for the first loud fire cracker to give the OX a good kick up the ... (go figure!), and this new development in the state where I was born is in fact, that firecracker!

How and why does a person change camps? What made them do it ... disillusionment with the party or could it be something else? Who gains? Who benefits? Elected reps should be asking the question ... am I actually contributing towards the welfare of the state?

If you answer Yes to these questions, go ahead and support these "lalang" who have taken the people of Perak for a ride.

The answer my friend is blowing in the wind ... sway with the wind and you will forever be wealthy - although there is much to differ on healthy and wise elements of this adage.

I sincerely believe that if an elected rep of the State Government cannot stand the heat, then it is time to get out of the kitchen ... that means totally removing yourself from politics until the next general election. Then, champion yourself as a person who upkeep's his/her principles, morals, ethics, etc and and now face the new horizon without have to bend over backwards to accommodate the party.

Don't jump into another bed because yours is a bit lumpy ... change the mattress, the bed, the sheets. At least you are still in your own home - and not in a position to be kicked out.

Would I trust you? Not in a million years. Anyway, I think I have finally found the reason to place a kick within the OX's anatomy.

GXFC!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Happy "NIU" Year

It is the Year of the OX ... and best wishes go out to everyone.

May all of us be be blessed with health, peace, wealth, prosperity and happiness ... and together we all can wish (pray and hope) that Liverpool finally win the Premiership.

You have a pleasant festive season ... drive safe!!
